Emergence

Each work emerges from individual placements. Paper, color, gesture, date, and the spatial situation form its conditions.

During the work, properties appear that cannot be attributed to any single placement. They arise from their interaction.

Emergence describes this phenomenon.

Art begins where something appears that cannot itself be placed.
